“Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.” (Psalm 62:8)

Trust in him at all times”  Trust- Believe in, put your faith in, understand that what he says he will do.  It is more than just a slight hope or longing.  This is an understanding that what is said will come to be.  This is an understanding that there is nothing to worry about, there is no doubt, there is no fear.  Trust, that you will be safe, that you will be secure, that all that you need will be provided.  You can take this to the bank, it is guaranteed, it will not waiver, it will not fail.  This is as sure as anything can be. Trust

“Trust in him at all times” Him – Yahweh, the Great I Am, Jehovah, Savior, Redeemer, Creator and Sustainor of the world, Almighty, Infinite, Eternal, All-knowing, God.  The Healer, The Provider, The One who sees us and knows us, even the number of hairs on our heads.  The one who spoke the world into existence and then came and dwelt among us and who still lives in our presence through his Spirit.  Our Rock, our Shield, our Defender, our Foundation, our Warrior, our Friend.  Abba Father, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, the one who was and is and is to come from everlasting to everlasting even to the end of the ages. Him

“Trust in him at all times” All – Every moment of every day.  Every second, every minute, every hour, every day, every week, every month, every year. From the beginning of time until the end of time. Eternal God who lives outside of time yet speaks into our times. Every breath, every moment, every heartbeat, from my wakeful wonderings to my peaceful dreams and every single moment in between. All

“Trust in him at all times” Times – The good, the bad, the indifferent, the times when we are on top of the world and the times when we are in a deep dark cave.  The times when we are completely open to his presence and the times when we feel like his presence has left us alone.  In the triumphs and the joys and the victories.  In the heartache, in the misery, in the loss, in the grief.  In those moments where it feels like there is no more room to breath yet he finds a way to crawl in and live and work and breathe. In the happy and the sad and all those moments in between when we don’t know exactly how to feel.  When we want him, when we don’t want him, when we are not even sure he is real.  In the real life messiness that is living in a fallen sinful world, yet one longing to be redeemed and groaning in anticipation of new life.  Times
